Forms of Conventional Poetry

 

 Diona

         – consist of three (3) lines with seven (7) syllables in each line that all rhyme with one another.

 Haiku 

          -traditional japanese fixed poetic form that doesn’t follow any specific rhythmic pattern.

          -compose of three  (3) non-rhyming lines with the first and third lines having five (5) syllables each and the second line having seven (7) syllables.

 Tanaga

           -traditionally in Tagalog/Filipino language with four (4) lines and each line uses seven (7) syllables only whether AABB OR AAAA is the rhyme scheme.

 Sonnet

           -single stanza lyric poem containing fourteen (14) lines, with rhyme schemeb ABAB, CDCD, EFEF, GG.
